The 42nd National Wool Textile Annual Conference and the Exchange Conference on Empowering the Innovative Development of the Textile Industry with Science and Technology were recently held in Mengyin County, Shandong Province.

The conference was hosted by the China Textile Engineering Society, supported by the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, and jointly organized by multiple units. In 2024, the total import and export value of woolen raw materials and products reached 16.38 billion US dollars, representing a year-on-year growth of 0.9%. In the first half of 2025, driven by structural adjustment and technological innovation, the industry presented a high-quality development trend.

Sun Deshi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Linyi Municipal Government and vice mayor, introduced that in 2024, the output value of the textile industry in Linyi City will increase by 12%, and it is accelerating its progress towards intelligence, greenness and high-end development. Meanwhile, Mengyin County, relying on its advantageous resources as "China's largest rabbit breeding county", has huge development potential in the field of wool textile industry.

You Yuanxun, the secretary of the CPC Mengyin County Committee, introduced that the textile industry, as a pillar industry of Mengyin County, is expected to achieve a production value of 2.27 billion yuan in 2024, with over ten thousand employees. It has gradually formed a complete product system including textiles, knitted fabrics, garments, blankets, and nonwoven fabrics, and has become an important textile and garment industrial base in Shandong Province and even the whole country. At present, there are mainly backbone enterprises such as Shenghe Textile, Wendao Technology, Hua 'ao Textile, and Baihuayuan Blanket.
